I forgot something before I recalled it

artist’s book, film, light, water, chemicals, paper, ink, and thread, 9 × 13 1/2 × 1/4 inches, 2022–2024

First self-published in 2022, the artist’s book I forgot something before I recalled it contains thirteen black-and-white photographs taken during a trip in Taiwan two years earlier. Over the following two years, the images were revisited and abstracted in the darkroom and through hand embroidery on paper. This self-publishing practice continued from 2022 to 2024, as Wang moved from Taipei to New York — a shift both geographic and psychological, offering a new body through which memory could be reshaped and retextured.
